Elena Vicario Orri is Head of Research Integrity at Frontiers. She joined Frontiers in 2017 after earning her PhD in Neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Elena leads a team of over 60 specialists, managers, and auditors dedicated to upholding the highest standards of research quality and ethics across all Frontiers journals, investigating potential breaches of research integrity and publication ethics pre- and post-publication. She has helped develop new checks and AI-powered tools for a robust quality triage as well as been responsible for strengthening editorial polices and workflows to maintain quality and integrity at scale.
